Charles Petzold: Programming Windows Phone 7 Series

This makes me feel old, and at the same time like a small boy who wants to run in circles shouting “yippee!”

Back in 1993 I had just finished high school, and got a summer job where, for the first time ever, I was paid to write computer programs. The job required Windows 3.1, but I had only ever used the Oric Atmos and Atari ST, so I rushed out and bought a copy of Programming Windows by Charles Petzold. For several months that summer, this book was my bible and Charles the elder statesman who possessed all knowledge and wisdom (in retrospect he wasn’t old at all, but hey, I was 17 :-)

Here we are in 2010, and Charles Petzold has written another book, this time called Programming Windows Phone 7 Series. This is the same Charles who taught me how to succeed in my first proper job, and this time he is writing about a technology I helped to create.

Wow.
