More signs of game programming geekhood

Have you ever found yourself sitting in a pub with some friends, examining spilt beer on a rickety wooden table and discussing how many layers of multitexturing it would take to render such a thing?

While driving on the freeway, did you ever find yourself admiring the quality of the motion blur on the road surface, or the realistic soft shadows beneath the other cars? (it's almost like they're doing proper realtime radiosity...)

Were you ever in a hurry, trying to weave through a busy crowd, and irritated by the poor pathfinding implementation and lack of collision avoidance in the other shoppers?

When the sun is low in the sky and reflecting off a wet ground surface, do you:

  1. dislike being blinded by the glare, or
  2. appreciate the quality of the HDR blooming postprocess?

Have you ever seen an indecisive driver swerving between lanes, and thought he needed a larger hysteresis zone in his decision making AI?

Did you ever catch yourself admiring a sunset, then wondering what texture format they could be using to compress such a detailed image into a manageable amount of video memory?

I did.

Sometimes I worry about myself :-)
